BANK OF AMERICA MERRILL LYNCH has recently hired a number of senior traders in its London-based EMEA commodities group. These include Doug Lawrence as head of EMEA gas trading replacing Andy Job who left for Citigroup a year and a half ago. Doug worked for over a decade at EDF TRADING, before resigning early this summer (see our newsletter of 22 June 2012). He was most recently responsible for proprietary trading, reporting to Steve Lewis, global head of gas trading. He has also worked for TOTAL POWER & GAS, ELF GAS & POWER and AGAS. The other hires include Robin Van Klaveren as a senior power trader (reporting to Namesh Hansjee, head of EMEA energy trading) and Arzhang Kaynama from CREDIT SUISSE as a precious metals trader. Robin spent almost ten years at RWE SUPPLY & TRADING in Geneva, initially at ESSENT TRADING, which the German utility acquired in 2009.
