BlackRock loses chief equity strategist

BLACKROCK’s chief equity strategist, Bob Doll, is to retire at the end of June 2012 after nearly three and a half decades in the industry to devote more time to his family, faith and charitable interests. He joined BLACKROCK in 2006, when the money manager purchased the investment unit from MERRILL LYNCH, which he joined in June 1999. Bob was named president of that firm’s investment unit in 2001.
