Electronic trading firm GETCO has recently sacked about 40 employees worldwide and several top officials have also left as part of a restructuring. David Babulak, who oversaw strategy, is leaving the firm after more than a decade, and Edward Boyle, a former NYSE EURONEXT executive who ran GETCO’s relationships with exchanges, has also left. In addition, Michael Rauchman, formerly GETCO’s chief technology officer, who has worked at the company since 2001 and previously oversaw its equity and currency trading operations, has left.
