Barclays loses head of remuneration committee

The head of BARCLAYS’ remuneration committee - Alison Carnwath - has resigned from the UK bank’s board for “personal reasons”. She was recently criticised over the group’s decision to pay large bonuses to top executives despite missing key financial targets. However, it appears that Alison had privately argued that ex-CEO Bob Diamond should give up his bonus, but was eventually overruled by other members of the board.
